Dynamic Hockey in association with the Northern Alberta Xtreme is excited to announce their inaugural Male & Female Showcase Camps in Leduc, Alberta from May 11-13. These unique showcase experiences are geared for young prospective Bantam & Midget players with aspirations of playing hockey at the Junior levels for Male and the College/University levels for Females. The weekend will provide these players with the opportunity to work closely with Junior/College/University staff to gain a better understanding of the expectations at the next level.

All athletes will work directly with staff at the next level and interact directly with them both on and off the ice. It is our goal to provide each athlete with an unforgettable experience whereby they will better be able to prepare themselves for the rigors ahead as they pursue opportunities at the next level.

Please visit http://www.dynamichockey.net/2018/03/06/western-canada-showcase-2018/ for registration details.

NAX Hockey
Skill Development
Offensive specialist – Ex-NHLer Rob Brown takes skill repetitiveness /reinforcement and blends it into hockey IQ development. He works on stick handling, distributing and receiving different types of passes, and shooting with different angles and strides. He makes players think about split-second decisions, which allows players to make smarter plays during the game.
Defensive specialist – Ex-NHLer Jason Strudwick takes game situations such as board battles, playing open ice one on ones, and transitional game-play to create an environment to teach the fundamentals of playing without the puck. Also works with defencemen to develop interplay between partners by working on puck retrieval, puck movement and getting shots through to create offence.

Education
Northern Alberta Xtreme Student-Athletes are enrolled in the Black Gold School District at both John Maland High School and Riverview Middle School in Devon, Alberta. We strongly encourage all of our student-athletes to become lifelong learners; therefore, the Xtreme program under the guidance of our Director of Academics (Paula Smith) works to ensure that both the long-term and short-term academic planning for our student-athletes is properly organized. John Maland High School has also been recognized as an official SAT test writing center.

Making Stridz
The Northern Alberta Xtreme incorporates a variety of technical skills coaches to assist with player development in the program. As such, NAX works alongside Making Stridz owner Brian Shackel who has been recognized as an expert power skating instructor in the Edmonton area. Through the utilization of technology along with Brian’s years of expertise he is able improve upon the skating technique and abilities of our student-athletes by incorporating his services into our program’s weekly routine on-ice.
